Friends in Blogland

I can hardly believe it's almost been two months since I've been "a blogger"!  It took me a long time to take the plunge, and now I'm asking myself why I didn't do this sooner.  Blogging has added a little something to my life that is just so heartwarming.  I love being able to share in a community of people who have the same passion as I do.  I have found such kindness and thoughtfulness.  Talent and inspiration.  Fun and encouragement.  And friends - so many good people who take the time to visit me, and leave me such sweet, meaningful little notes that make me smile from ear to ear.  Which brings me to Carol.  I "met" her here in blogland in the very first week I posted.  She is just the sweetest!  Her comments are so thoughtful, kind and endearing.  She is just starting out on this card-making journey herself and recently started a blog as well.  Her posts are charming and you can just tell what a fantastic person she is.  Check her out here!

And just the other day, Carol encouraged me to make a card for the Case Study Challenge this week.  And this is what I came up with - thank you for the encouragement Carol!

The case study is based on a card by Teri Anderson (she is SUCH a talent!):

And here's my take:

Just a little mixture of sweet images from TAWS and Paper Smooches sets.  I thought it would be a good card for maybe a little boy's (toddler age) birthday.  If there's a certain image that you'd like to know which set it came from, just leave me a little note and I'll send the info along.

Thanks for looking - and thank you Carol for being such a sweet friend!

  1. YAY~ I get to be the first to post! Well let me start by saying I LOVE this card. It is adorable! The sets used are perfect together, and I don't think it can get any sweeter. Perfect for a little "man."
I am so happy you took the plunge into blogland as well. I have so enjoyed seeing everything you are creating. You are very talented, and I love coming to your blog. I agree Carol is a doll, and has made me feel super welcome as well. :)

  2. Isn't 'blogland' wonderful (and a little addictive), I find it so inspiring and supportive, gotta LoVe it! ps, fabulous monochromatic take on Teri's card and such an adorable mix of images as well!

  3. That card is adorable, Shannon! Great take on Teri's card! I really like the monochromatic look that you used on your card. (P.S. I'm glad that I finally got some Paper Smooches stamps - they're so cute!!)

  4. Wonderful card, I like your take on Teri's card. The colour combo is lovely. I enjoy reading your comments about blogging, I need to remember those first feels sometimes to make my blog more often. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Woo Hoooo!!! I KNEW you’d create something darling! Love your interpretation; love the ‘simplicity’; love the kraft; and ESPECIALLY love the way each ‘set’ of images – hearts, music notes, birds – are ‘similar, yet different.’ Composition, balance, essence, audience – you’ve tapped into all, in a most delightful way! From first glance to all the others that happened since (trust me: I look at your cards several times, so sweet they are!) thoughts of my nephew are triggered, so you have hit the ‘geared to a little boy’ target accurately. Charming!!

  6. Oh I am so glad I stopped by today! I saw this card and have to come leave you some love.. You are so very talented, and I love what you did with your TAWS stamps.. I love how you interpreted the inspiration.. Truly such a sweet card.. I can't wait to see what you do next with your stamps.. Hugs!!

  7. Fabulous! All those stamps are adorable...and perfect together! Thanks for playing along with us at CASE Study!

  8. BIRDIES! AND MUSIC NOTES! AND OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So. Cute!!!!!!

Thank you for leaving me a comment - I appreciate them so much!
