Hello!
A week or so ago I made a "Bon Voyage" card for a friend of mine who was going on holiday to Hawaii...and today I made another card, for another friend who is going next week!! When's it my turn?! Ha ha!
Here's what I came up with this time around:
Still using Get Outta Town, and used some of the same, and some different images on this card. My fave part of this card is the sentiment! I am in LOVE with those alpha dies as well as with the trend of "stacking" layers underneath to create a chip board effect. I just doodled the border with my white gel pen, added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and a bit of Glossy Accents to the centre of the hibiscus. And that was it!
Going to enter this into the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge this week.
Thanks for coming by!
Shannon
SUPER DUPER Cute!!!! I am going to have to tell you when I go on vacation for a card!!!!! LOL....Cute. I love anything Coffee, and anything TRAVEL!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow how cute is this?! So fun and wouldn't it be fun to be in Hawaii now?!
ReplyDeleteOkay...so you "just doodled the border"....seriously? The first thing I did when I saw this pretty was to check out the source of the 'doodled border'... awesome work Shannon - the corners are perfect!!! I was sure it was a rub-on!
ReplyDeleteI love how you clustered the sweet tropical elements in the center of your card - creates a stunning focal point. Your layered 'fun' looks great!!!
"And that was it"?? Oh, my friend, this is creativity, plus, as in *hello* - perfect doodled border, amazing cluster of tropical images (-30C in Edmonton this morning!), spectacular colouring and delightful alpha-die sentiment! Your friend (yes, I think your turn should be next on the agenda!) will adore this, as do I!! Just arrived home from yet another fantabulous family trip, and had to let you know your card has gone above and beyond in making me smile! Be in touch soon! Hugs~c (Oh yes: calling winner on this gem!)
ReplyDeleteOoooooooh I do love this! I love palm trees and tropical stuff almost as much as Christmas and snowflakes! haha! I love the way you did the die cut alpha! I hadn't heard of layering them like that. I'll need to add that to my to try list! Your coloring is fabulous and that doodled border... oh my, that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and Fun!!! Love your coloring Shannon....so Pretty :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Shannon, my favorite part is that you doodle-did your border with a white gel pen! Genius! What an awesome way to add interest!! The whole card is adorable, of course, and I agree about the fun of layering those die cut letters!! Hugs, Darnell
