Hello!
Just a quick post today. I really wanted to make a hello card for a very special friend today. When I saw Shari Carroll's video over at Simon Says Stamp this morning, I knew I wanted to try this technique to make the card.
Have a look :)
The colours are not as soft and pretty as Shari's, they actually took on more of a muted look. I'm not sure if it was because I used a different type of paper? But I do like the different look it gives. Once the "painting" was done, I used my Hero Arts Wet Cement ink to overlay a Hero Arts background stamp. Then I went to work on the focal point. The letters are also HA (I LOVE this set!) and that sweet little bunny holding the flower is Mama Elephant. I also used an ME die for the scalloped border. A few hits of the Wink of Stella glitter pen in the tiny circles of the background (you can't see them because I added them after I took the photo!) and my card was all done!
Thanks for stopping by today!!! Hope you are having a good weekend!
Shannon

ReplyDeleteOh, for crying out loud, you've done it again: taken my breath away, rendering me 'almost' speechless and gaping in awe at your amazing creativity!. How ADORABLE is this bunny holding his wee blue flower, and the background you've fashioned for him - a cascade of soft, pretty flowers - is absolutely STUNNING!! The sentiment is perfect; I can see why this HA set is love-worthy! I watched Shari's video and where I was daunted, you, my friend, have shown skill and expertise in making her technique your own, with your choices of colours and images! Your crafting ventures' results are so much fun and your enthusiasm, engaging. Shari would be thrilled x ecstatic to see how she inspired you, and you, in turn, are inspiring us! I may not 'get' to the ink+alcohol background creating, but I am moving ever closer to adding ME to my collection. Baby steps, right - and they're all coming about because of YOU!! Your comments on my plain and simple city-scape: thank you! Note definitely in the 'draft' stages and coming soon. I have another paper to edit - this time on pottery. Very cool! Off to edit and add a couple posts before linkies close their doors (more simple coming at Just me: c). Hugs to you - and again, wow x wow on this card! ~c
