It seems to be all or nothing with me these days. Flurries of cards, followed by...nothing! I think that I've realized that my creativity has a mind of it's own! It comes...and just like that, it goes! And I just can't force it (no matter how much I try!). Hopefully it will start to come more often, since I just submitted a ridiculous order to Ellen Hutson (stayed up til midnight last night to take advantage of the 25% off sale!!!) and will be receiving some new goodies soon! So excited! As if that wasn't bad enough, I also spent a ton of money at the local store, who were offering 40% off of any product from one manufacturer. So I chose Ranger, and stocked up, mostly on a lot of distress inks. I've been wanting to try them out for a while, and now I've got an ink pad (or ten!) to play with! How could I resist 40% off?!! Love Black Friday!
My creativity did make a very brief appearance the other day (and quickly left!), and I came up with this card:
I really do need to make a little extra effort in photographing my cards!!
It looks so much better in real life!
One of the new Simon Says Stamps (I think it's the one in their December kit) featured some xo stamps. It sparked the idea to create a Christmas tree out of "hugs and kisses"! I used the x an o from the Paper Smooches Alphadots set and just eyeballed the placement best as I could. It's not perfect, but it will do!
Hope you like this little guy! And thank you so much for coming by to see me!
Have a good weekend, everyone! And a VERY (belated) Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends!!
Shannon

ReplyDeleteAn "X & O" Christmas tree.....absolutely adorable!!! Your choice of DP's blend perfectly together (oh yeah - loving that red chevron paper a whole lot!). I love how you nestled the tree trunk between the words! Another brilliant creation :)
ReplyDeleteKnow what else? There is nothing like retail therapy to regain the missing mojo! Just think how excited you will be to put all that new product to work once it arrives. Looking forward to your recovery process :)
Oh this is darling Shannon!! You do come up with some super cute ideas! I know all about the mojo thing and mine has a mind of it's own too. There's just no controlling that old creativity. I just try to take advantage of it when it's around! Really love seeing your cards! Hope you enjoy all of your new purchases! I spent a bundle on black friday too!
ReplyDeleteWell, Shannon, I have to say that when your creative juices do start flowing, they come out like a waterfall! This is so darn innovative making your tree out of xs and os!! Genius! I hope to see a lot more from you when your NBUS starts to arrive! Are you goal-oriented? Say, one NBUS product every other day until it's all put away? Sometimes our creative juices just need a little damning up so they don't gush out and then dry up too quickly! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI love this. the snowflake background is pretty and the xo tree is perfect!
ReplyDeleteSupah cute! I love the XOXO tree! Brilliant idea.
ReplyDeleteYay for goodies!!! Have fun playing!

ReplyDeleteHm... I think we should totally meet up and crafts :D I was so tempted to spend at Ellen Hutson with the 25% off... but I wasn't interested in paying shipping XD
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas cards so much! Sooo... how many Christmas cards have you made?? Hehe
Love your x's and o's tree! The background is so cute too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card! Totally love that tree, and those chevrons! Great card. Can you shoot me an email? I have a question for you. Thanks Bev
ReplyDeleteCreativity does come and go - it drives me crazy!! I bet the Ellen Hutson order will help. I ordered in the early a.m. but haven't gotten it yet and am definitely stalking my mailbox!
ReplyDeleteYour XO tree is a fantastically creative idea! It's the perfect message to send this holiday season. You know I'm a pre-Christmas grinch and your comment on my blog about your skin turning green and wrinkly with a dog dressed as a reindeer tells me you are exactly the same! Your hugs and kisses card will brighten the days of other pre-Christmas Grinches!
