Three Quickies

Hello!

Just popping in to share three cards that I made quite quickly over the past few days.  As I frantically tried to finish up my last few Christmas cards, I also had to make cards for three other occasions this week: my parents' anniversary, my mother-in-law's birthday and my brother-in-law's birthday!  Got them all whipped up just in the nick of time!  Here they are:

My parents' card:

Nothing new here - I know this look has been "done" many times before, but I just wanted to try it out with my new Wplus9 stamps, Hero Arts inks, stencil and those liquid emamel.  LOVE all of these supplies!

My mother-in-law's card:

My husband made a special request for the bird stamp!  The background is new from Hero Arts, and the green ink is new as well - Momento Luxe.  Love that ink!!!

My brother-in-law's card:

Again, nothing new, it's been done before.  But I wanted to try out the technique of popping up a portion of the sentiment.  And I can now breath a sigh of relief that the guy card is done.  I get so worked up trying to think of ideas for these!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Shannon

  1. Such a wonderful assortment of styles, Shannon! My fave is the last with the popped up sentiment. I've yet to try that and you've inspired me to just do it! Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Three wonderful cards, Shannon. In my world, those W Plus 9 stamps and dies are the cat's meow! Absolutely love them, and what you've done with them here. And if I'm not mistaken, you've used some embossing paste too. Brave girl--that is totally out of my comfort zone. The card for you mil is sweet. Love that HA background stamping and that little pink bird perched on your washi. And you've nailed the bil's card perfectly. He'll love it I'm sure (as much as men "love" cards...lol). Merry Christmas Shannon. Bev

  3. Shannon, all three of these are wonderful! Even if a technique or a design layout has been done before, how the card artist executes those things make it very special and about THEIR work. In this post, each one of your cards is full of wonderful detail and style that only you can bring to them, and they are clean and impeccable and I love each one!!

I wish you the happiest of holidays and thank you so much for your online friendship and your warm words of encouragement throughout the year! Holly Hugs! Darnell

  4. I couldn’t jet out from work fast enough (even the ‘short day’ was too long…holiday excitement has me antsy!), to zip home, fire up my laptop and, still coat-clothed and gloved (wait…there, those are off), to say: eeeee!! Trifecta of perfection, along with heavy helpings of dazzle, delight and brilliance! Absolutely gorgeous cards, my dear friend, each bearing the Shannon-magic-touch that we’ve come to love, because your designs and techniques are always fresh, eye-catching, “ahhh…-inspiring”, and unique! I agree with Darnell: the ‘been done before’ hasn’t truly been done before when you infuse it with your interpretation, your artistry, your ‘essence’. Your parents’ anniversary card (excellent reminder: mine celebrate 55 years, on Dec. 30! Yet another similarity shared!) is gorgeous with the WPlus9 florals, as well as the stencils an d embossing paste (on my list, although I have zero clue how to use it!). Your MIL’s card: darling! You’ve fulfilled your husband’s request to a “t” and then some! Love the bird, the yellow-happy-flowery background, the black&white perch, and, of course your “Shannon signature touch” – the wee, glittery heart. I think you’ll earn even more “Favourite DIL” points when she receives this! BIL’s card, with the portion popped-up sentiment – guaranteed to bring smiles and hugs, for sure! Yes, my friend, nothing here is a “repeat,” in my view; rather, they’re all yours - made with your hands and heart – for people who hold special spots in your life. LOVE them all…LOVE!! They’ve moved into the Top 5 list, which is rapidly becoming a Top 20 list (and then some!!). Awesome gifts you’ve shared with us today, with your post and your cards!! Hugs~c

And I've been wanting to try some of the Luxe ink. I've heard good things. Love the technique you used in the last one. Another thing on my "to try" list! And great job on the "guy" card! They don't come easy to me either.

Fabulously sweet and yummy creations! And hey, aren't we all pretty much doing the same thing all the time...making cards....but it is all the little extras or the style that makes' it your own! Three awesome cards but I absolutely adore the third card....stamping the OMG over the number - so totally creative and looks so cool!
