Hello!
Eeek! SO close to Christmas now!! And just in time for Christmas, we got our first snowfall yesterday. A perfect excuse to stay inside and make cards! I had so much fun making these.
I managed to get two done. Here's the first:
I was totally and completely inspired by this card by Joni nina Andaya from Papell with Love. Have you seen her work? If not, you MUST! One word: stunning. I think you'll agree. Please go have a peek! Her distress inking and blending is divine. So is everything else she does, but it was the inking that inspired me on this one. I used WPlus9, Lawn Fawn and PS stamps, mixing pretty with whimsical. A bit different for me, but I enjoyed experimenting! What I didn't enjoy, was when I trimmed the left side of the card, when I meant to trim the right, and my sweet little flower that *was* in the corner, shifted off centre!! oh well...!!!
And here's the second card:
I'm entering this into the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes Challenge. And this one did challenge me. I tried so many different things, but in the end, I was pleased with the results! That little guy is still one of my fave images!
That's it for me today. Hope to be back again before Christmas!!
Shannon
um, wow! I've been so into inking and studying what people do with it...love your gorgeous pink card!
ReplyDelete..and your chick card, super adorable!
thanks for the TH information, onto my wishlist:)
Another two DAZZLING, DELIGHTFUL and DARLING cards, my dear Shannon! Your creativity (already mega impressive) is expanding even more with your journeys into mixed media: embossing paste, distressing and here, in a fabulous showcase of "wow", inking! Stunning backgrounds for your sweet lawn fawn and your little bird (that expression is adorable); love the pink fade in the first, and the blue/green, with the subtle flower impressions, on the second! Two works of art; absolutely unique, fresh, amazing works of art! Of course, the Shannon-signature touch hearts, as always, perfectly placed! You are rocking the new products and stepping into new territory, with results that are fabulous, and inspiring! I "might' consider embossing paste and a stencil in my next order (hello...Simon Says...sale needed, please!), but beyond that...eeeek with anything involving blending. I can visualize the mess (and accompanying meltdown!). Your trimming oops...hmmm, I'd have to look pretty hard to detect anything shifted, so from my view, nothing but pretty and whimsical on all counts!! LOVE x LOVE these!! Hugs~c
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely!! I love the distressed inking on the top one! And of course I adore that little dear! He's been on a lot of my cards too :) Sorry you slipped up and cut the wrong side. Those things happen to me a lot. Good for you to keep going, because I would have thought you did that on purpose! The second one is just adorable! Love that little chick! Need to add him to my list :) Enjoy your snowy day!! We had flurries this morning, but nothing sticking... boo... ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteAww...thank you Shannon for the shout out! Its always delightful to visit you :) Your cards are beautiful! Your coloring on the first one is so pretty, I am so happy you gave this distressing technique a try....so love your card! Your second card is so CUTE, I have this stamp set too....but you stamped him better than I do :) Hugs!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet cards! I just love that little bird. Thanks so much for playing with us at Paper Smooches Sparks this week!
ReplyDeleteTwo more ca-utie pa-too-tee cards! I sure don't think there is anything off center here - everything looks awesome! Your on one heck of a creative roll....anxious to see more :)
ReplyDeleteOh deer! Your card reminds me that I haven't inked up that LF deer yet! Love your Joni inspired background and that little chick just makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this, YES Joni's CARD ROCKS, and you did it too!!!!! Oooh if I was not in Missouri = misery without my crafts. O'well, I will eat another Christmas cookie.....Hohummmm not better. Anyways, LOVE your feeling better card!!!!!! Love your little birdie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI always use that deer as a little boy deer - probably because I am surrounded by men and boys! But she is even more sweet on pink with a background of florals! I love the heart word bubble on both - so perfect for so many occasions!
ReplyDeletewhimsical + pretty never looked so great together! i LOVE the wash of color, the falling blooms and of course the little deer :) That little chickie is the sweetest with his surprised expression!
