Doodling on my Mind

Hello!

So as my challenge addiction continues to worsen...
I found a few new challenge sites over the weekend that I know are not going to help my...ahem...problem!  One of them is called Unscripted Sketches.  Being that this is challenge #198, I can only ask myself "Where have I been"?!  But I'm glad to have stumbled upon it at last!

I looked at the challenge, and initially thought it was a tricky one - but once I saw the design team samples, I noticed that some had rotated it, and I breathed a sigh of relief.  Top level is a panel, and a two-lined sentiment could represent the boxes.  This was one I could do!

I really liked the colour choices and theme that one of the design team members, Debbie used, so I went with that.  I used the Paper Smooches Reflections set, and was inspired by Anna to doodle on some of the inked images with my white gel pen.  I added the hearts in the centre of the largest flowers and outlined the little guys.  I doodled on the green leaves as well.  Check out Anna's sweet card too.  The sentiment is from PS Flap Happy - I thought it was perfect for any occasion.

Here's the sketch:

And the card:

Hope you like the card!

  1. Hey Shannon! Thanks for play along and please feel free to flip the sketch any which way your sweet little heart desires! The sketch is just a starting point and we love seeing different variations....so run with whatever feels great!

Now about your yummy card - Wow! This color combo absolutely does rock! The faux stitched border, the popped up flowers & the twine add interest & dimension to your card. Then there is the "doodling" - another WOW. You definitely have talent and I'm so glad you chose to share it with us this week at Unscripted Sketches :)

  2. This is charming - perfect card for your 'new' challenge discovery. From the colours, to the flowers to the hearts, to the doodling (I have a white pen - rarely used! Ideas sparked!), to the stitching, to the message: it all adds up to, as Geri noted, a most deliciously YUMMY card! You have a flair for those 'special touches'!

Unscripted Challenges now on my 'possibilities' list because, as you know, your 'affliction' is infectious, in the best of ways!! :)

Thank you again for ALL your inspiration! and positive energy!
Another card in the queue for my blog later today; it's a stretch...really extended elongated streeetch.

  4. So ADORABLE! I love the doodling you did in the flowers. It brings them right off the card. The colors you picked are so perfect. I also like how you flipped the sketch. VERY clever! You have a perfect balance of the leaves, hearts, stems, flowers, etc. I really think this is such a fun card! Thank you so much for the shout out again. I hope you had a wonderful day.
