CAS(E) this sketch - sort of!

Hello!

I had some time to make cards today.  Haven't done much else, and there is a lot that I need to do around the house, but somehow the card making always seems to jump its way to the front of the priority list!  The house will just have to wait until tomorrow.  Or maybe the next day :)  Ha!

I made a card for the CAS(E) this sketch challenge this week.  I had full intentions of  following the sketch quite literally, but that got away from me.  It's sort of close, but not exactly what the sketch called for.  I guess the fact that it was the inspiration for the card is all that really matters though!  The card is all The Alley Way Stamps.  The sentiment was a labour of love, because that saying doesn't exist in the stamps that I own.  So I did a lot of using letters from other sentiments to create my own.  You can tell that it's kind of piece-mealed together.  At first I was tempted to re-do it, but then I decided there was something maybe a little charming about the imperfection.

Here is the sketch:

And the card it inspired:

Hope you have a good Saturday night!

Shannon

  1. This is soooo cute! I love how your sentiment turned out too!

  2. Awww...how 'moooo-velous' is this card! The little cow (another 'pet' I'd love...that size!) with its wonky eyes has...well, personality. Sentiment = sweet!! Charming 'imperfection,' ('tho I see only perfection!), indeed.

I'm trying to decide if I should enter the PS polkadot challenge. I spent nearly all day (seriously!!), printing and paper-piecing some of their free digis to create a 'sampler set' of little 3X3 thank you cards, and accompanying envelopes. They're cute (I think), but...oh, to have some courage. Hmmm...maybe they'll be my first blog post - that way I can show all three of them...

    Thinking, thinking...
Your card = Cute And Sweet, Exponentially (my CAS(E) interpretation...)

    1. Oooooh, I definitely think you should enter! How about this: pick out your favourite, and enter that one. Then when you get up and running on your blog, post the set as your very first post. What do you think? And who knows, you might even win the $30 g.c. and be able to add even more to your collection! BUT only do it if YOU are ready - remember what Hamlet said...!

Love your CAS(E) interpretation! I was thinking more like LLATYODI (looks like a two year old did it!) Ha ha! But I am learning (slowly) to let go of "needing" my cards to be "perfect". And I'm quite enjoying that process - it's quite liberating!

Thank you for letting me know about the comments :) That makes sense, and I'm glad it's not too much of an inconvenience for you to find my replies :)

Enjoy induldging in your cards today! I just finished grocery shopping and a little cleaning so I think I might just do the same!!

  3. Fun! I love all the green 'white' space - he is definitely Outstanding in his field. Or out, standing in his field! Either way, this is a great card! Thanks for playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch!
