Chugga Chugga Chu Chu!

Hello!

Well, it's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Joni Nina Andaya.  She is a huge inspiration to me, and many of the techniques I try here are because of her.  So when I saw that she is this month's Case Study, you KNOW I had to play along!

This one didn't come about very easily.  A LOT of trial and error!  But just like the little engine that could, I kept on going...chugga chugga chu(chee) chu!!  I knew I could, I knew I could (it's in my name, afterall - ha!).  And here's what it looked like in the end (nothing like how it started, btw!!):

Big mix of everything going on in this baby!  The background flowers in grey are Casual Friday, the polka dot label is Stampin' Up.  The flowers on the label are WPlus9 and the birdies are Lawn Fawn.  Both sentiments are Studio Calico/Hero Arts.  Finished it off with a little distressing of the edges to frame it up a bit and a little baker's twine.

And here's Joni's inspiration card:

Gorgeous, huh?!!

Thank you so much for coming by today!!  Hope you enjoy your Sunday, and please stop by if you can tomorrow...I am participating in a very special blog hop and I'd love for you to be a part of it too!

  1. Well worth all the effort put into this sweet card, Shannon! Sooo darling! The little SU frame is perfect on this; frames those birds just right! Great colors, and I love the fresh yellow you've used to edge this. Love it! Bev

  3. Big mix of everything AWESOME going on in this baby is what I see here, my friend! You chugga-chugged (too cute!) your way to a most delightful, sweet, guaranteed-to- make-Joni-burst-with-pride creation! Your take just shines with your special flair and style, from the pretty background to the images you've chosen. My favourite part: the birds, flowers and frame combo! I can picture that little grouping adorning the front of a set of mini- cards...See, you're inspired by Joni, and in turn, you're inspiring me! Your magical talents just keep in giving..and giving..and giving! Keep that creativity train a-rolling!! Hugs~c

  4. Once again, Chuchee, you chugged along and ended up procuding an incredible card!! Oh, hey, procuding. I'm not sure it has a very good ring to it. Wait. What? You see how I am now that Hammy is over there in a daze. Seriously, what ARE we going to do? Shall we find a third party who wants the both of them? I hear once they are in the same cage, it can turn ugly. I've tried to explain all this to Hammy, but he, of course, feels like they will be different. If he doesn't snap out of it, I'm going to have to get a neutered critter. Maybe a squirrel, although I find them MORE distracting than helpful. A kang ... sorry, just thinking out loud. I need a lie down. Love, Darnell
