Two Oopsies and a Happy Result

Hello!

Playing along with the Unscripted Sketches challenge this week.  I was pretty pleased with how the card turned out, but it wasn't easy getting there!  My intention was to place the chevrons more in the middle of the card, than closer to the top...until I smudged black ink all over the patterened paper!  Ugh!  I had to place the chevrons higher to cover up the mess!  I had also planned for the panel to be a bit bigger with less of a white frame...until I accidentally cut one side of the chevrons off a little too much and they didn't extend fully from one side of the panel to the other.  I considered leaving it, but wanted to stay true to the sketch, and it looked better with the full extension anyway!  So I trimmed it down.    So here's the sketch and the result of my little boo boos!

  1. Your card is evidence that 'out of chaos emerges harmony'! So absolutely adorable; the chevrons (grrr...chevrons and I have a struggling relationship, as you'll see later this week!) are perfectly placed; the flower, with its butterfly, heart and darling pearl leaves is perfect; the gingham pattern is perfect. Three 'perfects' means an A+++ card! Love it - no 'oops' from my perspective!!

  2. Speaking of "oops," - I meant to write "polka-dot leave" not pearl...bleary-eyed!!

  3. A sweet, pretty design. Great saves! Perfect example of how important it is to not give up :) That teeny butterfly is the cutest most perfect finishing touch.

  4. So, if I drop my ink pad on my card and cut the paper too small and produce a card like this...then I'm all over this idea!

I ADORE the wide border - it totally makes your image pop and really picks up the white space between the chevrons. Absolutely perfect balance of your card elements...love the bling too. Awesome job.

Thank for choosing our Unscripted Sketch to showcase this sweet card. Don't forget that it is US's 4th blogi-versary next week and there 'might' be some fun surprises!

  5. Its adorable! Who would have known it gave you such trouble in the making? It looks great with the wide border and the flower/butterfly combo is so sweet. Thanks for playing along with us at Unscripted Sketches :)
